In satellite communications, increased size results in better performance. The 5009s larger main reflector allows it to operate with greater reliability and higher data rates, even in marginal areas such as the Seychelles or other parts of the Indian Ocean.
The 09 series antennas have fewer moving parts than previous models. Simplified electronics above decks are common across the range of Sea Tel antennas.
This product has been discontinued. It has been superseded by the Sea Tel 10 Series.
